Position Description:
The Producer of Digital Media will work closely with our Vice President of Production to manage and maintain our client’s digital strategies. Dedicated to a specific client, the Producer will collaborate to develop and enhance their current digital media offerings.
The position requires excellent production, product development, communication, time management, detail oriented, project management, and people skills.
As the Producer you will be responsible to keep your projects under budget and delivered on time and focus on best practices that have an ROI attached to each project.
The Producer must be able to demonstrate the regular and sustained ability to operate in a high-intensity environment with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis. The current client requires a minimum of 3 workdays onsite.
We look for someone to provide relevant, engaging, and interactive experiences to support the client’s digital initiatives. You should have an understanding of digital entertainment and best practices in the space around the world. Client’s business is primarily outside of the United States.
This role requires independent thought, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the foresight to involve senior management to help resolve difficult problems as they arise.
The Producer should have a passion for all bleeding edge technologies, new media, gadgets, surfing the web, etc…
Speaking additional languages other than English is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform regular site reviews and reporting for new and existing features from a performance/quality standpoint.
• Translate business, marketing and production goals into digital media projects with a focus on ROI.
• Collaborate with the team to support programming initiatives.
• Work with technology and product teams to create project plans, wireframes, functional specs and business requirements.
• Work with developers to create test plans, test specs and testing strategies.
• Generate ideas for improving engagement and satisfaction on the site, as well as product presentation, organization, and usability.
• Continually assess new technologies, web services and web designs.
• Coordinate product to ensure optimum site and product performance.
• Facilitates the technical and content objectives for assigned web projects.
• Responsible for scoping projects, communicating with the origin and the development teams, and managing projects from inception through completion.
• Manages resources, monitors expenditures, and makes sure completed web projects meet the needs of the organization.
• Responsible for developing websites and web applications.
• Provide expert technical leadership in website development, with emphasis on fully leveraging the Drupal content management system.
• Introduce preventive measures when resolving production problems.
• Demonstrate strong initiative and commitment to the organization.
• Act as team player/self starter with the ability to analyze tasks, work independently, and to drive projects to completion.
• Communicate concepts and ideas to editors, designers, talent, etc, making sure all elements conform to the brand look and the mission of the network.
• Manage staff and freelance producers, developers on a per-project basis.
• Understanding of social networking (ie Facebook, Twitter, etc…), forums, blogs, chat rooms, RSS, Web 2.0, etc…
• Have a great “can do” attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements:
• 5+ years of producing complex digital projects
• 2+ years of working with Drupal
• 4 year college degree preferred but not required
• Portfolio of work is required
• Understanding and general working knowledge of:
• Drupal, PHP, CSS, HTML, DART, Google Analytics, Brightcove, Ning, Base Camp, and Mantis
• Skilled with Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word.
• You must be in the LA area and able to attend meetings at the clients offices.
• You must have your own equipment and software
