John Charles Video Producer

John Charles grew up in Northern California with his eyes on a career in television. After getting his Bachelors degree in English and Creative Writing from UC Davis and then his Masters in Film from UC San Francisco, he headed straight to Los Angeles.

John brings over a decade of television production experience to the Devious Media team. His deep experience encompasses multiple genres – everything from action to reality, from game shows to drama. His particular skills in writing and production have driven the creative direction for segments, features, interstitials, on-air promotions and more.

John started his career in Hollywood as a story editor for an independent film distributor.  After writing for game shows and talk shows at Game Show Network – including Lover’s Lounge and Win TV – John became a segment producer for one of GSN’s longest running and highest-rated reality series, Games Across America.  More recently, after writing and producing promotional packages for movies and television, as well as creating a web series and leading various online video projects, John returned to cable television as an On Air Promo Writer/Producer for GSN, covering such series as High Stakes Poker, GSN Live, The Newlywed Game, and the new hit dating show, Baggage, hosted by Jerry Springer.
